Beberbeck and horses – they simply belong together. As early as the 18th century, the horses bred here caused a huge furor. Originating from the herds of horses that grew up nearly wild in the Sababurg region, they were known for their special toughness, strength and speed. Several of the Beberbeck’s male horses were later used as breeding stallions at the famous Trakehnen Stud Farm. This rich tradition is another treasure for the Schloss Beberbeck Resort, and one that we are virtually obligated to pursue.
The resort’s riding activities begin in the first introductory course with pony stables and a comprehensive equestrian center, which includes a large arena with
spectator stands, a longeing arena and an arena with a horse walker. Spacious paddocks and a variety of equestrian facilities from dressage and show jumping to
all-weather and tournament venues fulfill all wishes. In the expansion phase, a
harness and thoroughbred racing track as well as a polo field are also planned.
Children learn basic horse handling and riding skills here; adult hobby riders can
bring their own horse and board it in the stables. The famous “Wild” horses may no longer be bred here, yet each visitor, whether child or professional rider, is
guaranteed to experience a sense of achievement.
