After the village was deserted for unexplained reasons, Lippoldsberg Abbey
establishes a farmyard in the Late Middle Ages.
1823
The region’s heyday. Electoral Prince William II of Hesse-Kassel erects a new stud farm, which would serve as the new model for horse breeding in the Hessian
region. The master builder of the court, Johann Conrad Bromeis – one of the most distinguished Neoclassical architects – receives the commission.
1833
After the Electoral Prince abdicates power, the position of master builder of the court
also changes hands. Julius Eigen Ruhl concludes Bromeis’s nearly finished work. The Beberbeck Stud Farm with castle and officiants’ residence is completed in full
splendor. Today, it is one of the few remaining Neoclassical buildings of its kind.
after 1929
In connection with the reparations from the First World War, the stud farm is closed
and a state institution is established. A revitalization of the attractive area and
historical buildings enables Beberbeck to shine today with a new luster.
