Take a few minutes and come along on a trip. Deep in the heart of Europe, deep
in the heart of Germany. Here, in the middle of the country, there are still mysterious forests with century-old trees, even older legendary castles and an enchanting
landscape. This is the area that inspired the Brothers Grimm to assemble their
collection of fairy tales. Here is located the Sababurg, the castle in which, according to local legend, Sleeping Beauty waited a hundred years for her prince. And
Trendelburg, another castle about 6 miles away, is where Rapunzel let down her
hair in order to be saved by a noble hero.
Today, the area with the old oak and beech forest is called Reinhard Forest
and still conjures up visions of the fairy tales from here. The region is the center of the German Fairy Tale Road; a wide variety of museums and events keep the old
legends and tales alive for future generations. For days on end, visitors can explore the fairy tale trails, listen to storytellers and attend theater performances. And if
you ever wander into the middle of the forest, you’ll find small timber-framed
houses or castle ruins from the Middle Ages, magical and mythic. Right here, directly between Sababurg and Trendelburg, is situated a true treasure – the Schloss
Beberbeck Resort.
